Obituary

Sarah McDowell of Point Pleasant WV passed away after a long illness on April 29, 2022 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. She was born in Ohio but her home, most of her life, was West Virginia. In addition to her parents, Austin Craig and Oma Willis, she was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law and a nephew, James Russell and by her loving husband, Lawrence Jeffery McDowell.

She is survived by three sisters and two brothers, Debbie Russell, of Rutland Ohio, Lisa Craig, of Austin TX, Rhonda Craig-McClenny, Tony Craig and David Conatser; and four daughters, Robin (Seth) Langford, Jessica (Donald) Leach, Raven Wallace all of Point Pleasant and Suvanna McDowell, of St Albans; and 11 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Sarah was a nursing asst for many years in WV,OH,AR,TX. Then she became a member of Asbestos Local 207, where she worked next to her husband for many years. Just as her mother Oma, Sarah was a member of the 700 club since 2019 and nothing meant more to Sarah than her love of God, her family, her church family and friends, and her little sidekick, Bella.

Services for Sarah will be Monday May 2, 2022, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with visitation from 12:00-1:00, with the funeral beginning at 1:00., officiated by Pastor Bob Patterson, with a brunch at First Church of God after the service. Sarah wanted to pass on this message to all of you, "Please don't mourn. Just look up and smile because I'm right here next to my parents and holding my Jeffery's hand and we are all smiling down on you. We will be together again and we love you all."
