Obituary

Sharon Lynn (Newberry) Morris was born March 11, 1963, to Delores (Greenlee) and Robert J. Newberry. Sharon loved FFA, 4-H and the Mason County Fair. In her earlier years, she showed steers at the Fair, winning 2 grand champion trophies. She participated in FFA and 4-H at the county and state levels.

Sharon was a food wizard in the kitchen. Like her three sisters, she learned cooking from their mother. Sharon often said she did not know how to make small batches of anything. Sharon loved her garden, in which she grew many vegetables including tomatoes, potatoes, corn, beans, cucumbers, broccoli, peppers and cabbages. Sharon always enjoyed tomatoes fresh from the garden. Her garden was her sanctuary, where she spent time with Jesus.

Sharon enjoyed watching television programs, such as game shows (Wheel of Fortune, Let's Make a Deal, Price is Right), cooking shows (Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef, Chopped), and competitive reality shows (Survivor, Amazing Race, Ax Men). Sharon was most recently employed at the Thomas Do-It Center in Point Pleasant.

Carl was born on March 14, 1963, three days after Sharon. Sharon and Carl went out on their first date on Saturday, November 10, 1984. They married one year later, on Sunday, November 10, 1985. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on Thursday, November 10, 2022. They made 12 annual trips to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, beginning on their 25th wedding anniversary in November, 2010. In the Smoky Mountains, they enjoyed hiking, and flying on roller coasters and zip lines. Sharon and Carl attended the First Church of God in Point Pleasant.

More than anything, Sharon enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family. Sharon acted as part of the care team for her mother and father, ultimately resigning from her job to care for them full-time. Sharon finished caring for her parents after she completed her responsibilities as executor for her father's estate. Sharon was a powerhouse while she cared for her parents.

Her health quickly declined thereafter. At some point after 9:00 pm on Tuesday, 12/20/2022, Sharon departed this world in the company of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She subsequently interacted with Carl and Anna Jo through their dreams. Sharon's body continued functioning until shortly after 9:00 am on Tuesday, 12/27/2022

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 37 years, Carl Morris; Anna Jo Morris (Adam) Young (Daughter); Zachary Morris (Son); Grandson, Baby Young, expected in May, 2023; Sisters, Linda Newberry (Marty) Roush, Darla Newberry (Gary) Walbrown, Karen Newberry (Tim) Harper, Nieces, Lurinda Casto Gardner, Tisha Harper (Lee) Tennant; Nephews, Kevin Casto, Tim Harper, Christopher (Annie) Walbrown, Andrew Walbrown; Great Nieces, Skyla Fenstermacher, Lucrysta Walbrown, Krista Tennant, Lyanna Walbrown; Great Nephews, Brayden Tennant, Bentley Gardner, Drake Gardner, Noah Gardner; Other Survivors, Randy Smith, who Sharon referred to as her "Cancer Buddy" and innumerable aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
