Shirley (Mayes) Spears, 83, of Point Pleasant, passed into the arms of her Savior early Wednesday Morning, September 27, 2023, peacefully at her home. She was a homemaker and once attended the Bellemead United Methodist Church. She was born November 7, 1939, in Southside, to Arnold Forrest Mayes Sr and Daisy (Gillespie) Mayes. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry M. Spears; son, David L. Spears; grandsons, Darren K. Yonker and Raymond L. Spears; brother, Arnold F. "Jack" Mayes Jr.; and son-in-law, Kent C. Yonker.

Shirley is survived by her children, Dorla Hill, Darlene Yonker, Dwayne "Chip" (Ricia) Spears; grandchildren, Lisa (Matthew) Smith, Bradley Morrow, David Erik Yonker, Beau (Jaime) Hill, William (Candace) Spears, David Spears, and Maria McNeely; great grandchildren (12), Cayelynn (Tyler) Sanders, Cody, Carter, Alec, Kaylee, Kelsey, Dylan, Cameron, Casey, Eden, Marc, and Cambriegh; great-great grandchildren (3), Jasper, Harper, Halen; siblings, Betty Robinson, Ella (Charles) Willet, Roy Mayes; nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
