Sidney O. "Sid" Gibbeaut, 77, of Leon, went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the James, at Ohio State University. Sid was retired from AEP River Operations. He was a member of the First Church of God, and was an avid outdoorsman, whether fishing or hunting, or just simply being outdoors.
He was born July 13, 1946, in Leon, a son of the late Cecil and Wilma (Thornton) Gibbeaut. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Fr. Wayne Gibbeaut.
Sid is survived by his loving wife, Nora (Loomis) Gibbeaut; son, Chase Gibbeaut (Sarah Jackson), of Winter Park, CO; bonus sons, Bradley (Kayce) Loomis, of Huntsville, AL, and Nathan (Savannah) Loomis, of Barboursville, sister, Betty Hammack, of Point Pleasant; and many other family and close friends.
Sid's life will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the First Church of God, 2401 Jefferson Ave., in Point Pleasant, with Pastors Bob Patterson, Mat Brown, and Carl "Boxer" Swisher officiating. The service will be live-streamed on the Crow-Hussell Facebook page. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
