Stephen R. Benson, age 41, of Henderson, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at his home. He was a deckhand for McGuiness River Transportation. Stephen was born July 8, 1972, in Mason County, a son to the late Norman Gene Benson and Charlotte Newell, of Southside.

In addition to his mother, Stephen is survived by his children, Stephen R. Benson, Nathan A. Benson and Josh Trey Benson, all of Mason County; his grandmother Dorthy Newell of Southside, fiance' Kay Dalton and his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sarah Benson, of Henderson along with several aunts and uncles friends and family that will deeply miss him.

Funeral services for Stephen will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Roger Bonecutter officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
