Stephen K. Noble, Jr. 64, of Armada, MI and formerly of Point Pleasant, died Thursday evening, Nov. 22, 2007. He was a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology and West Virginia State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and a Board of Regents Degree. He taught music at the University of Charleston and was a member of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and director/musician for the Kanawha Players, being an accomplished Jazz musician on the saxophone, clarinet and flute. He was a project engineer and was a former employee of Corver Engineering, Detroit; Textron Automotive, Troy; and Collins, Aikman and Cadence Innovations, Chesterfield Twp. He was a member and served on several boards and various positions at the Armada United Methodist Church. He was a former president of the Armada Area Schools Board of Education and enjoyed fly-fishing, photography, father-daughter dances and staging various activities.
Born December 26, 1942, in Gallipolis, OH, he was a son of the late Stephen K. and Vera (Jones) Noble. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Frances Kay "Fran" (Nelson) Noble; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie (Joe) Shook, of Black Mountain, NC, Amy (Richard) Summers, of Gallipolis, OH and Heather Noble, of Armada MI; grandchildren, Sarah and Dylan Shook and Christopher and Richard Summers; great-grandson, Owen Summers and sister, Judy Straight, of Wheeling, WV.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant, with Rev. Richard DeQuasie officiating. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery, Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, on Wednesday evening, Nov. 28, 2007, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for family wishes.
