It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Teresa Ellen Kughn, 71, of Point Pleasant, WV, a loving daughter, sister, cousin, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her death occurred suddenly on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at Holzer Hospital in Gallipolis, OH while battling an acute illness of unknown origin.

A Registered Nurse of 50 years, she was born to be a caretaker. She is preceded in death by her Brother Brent Gardner, Father Henry "Parky" Gardner, and Mother Juanita Gardner. Teresa met and married her surviving husband Kenneth Kughn while they were both attending Holzer School of Nursing, this year was to be their 50th Wedding Anniversary. She is also survived by her only daughter Ashley Rowell, son-in-law Brian, and three grandchildren Brian Jr. (14), Luna (7), and John (5).

After living in New Orleans, LA through hurricanes Katrina, Gustav, and Isaac, and surviving breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, she returned to Point Pleasant, WV in 2018 to care for her aging parents. Teresa was known for her positive outlook and compassionate caregiving in hospital, home, and hospice settings. She may not have been able to identify animals correctly all the time, but she loved cats and enjoyed watching the deer parade through the yard in the morning and evening. Her love of life, and her motivation to succeed, was experienced by all who knew her. Teresa was the heart and soul of our family and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held at 12pm for family members, and 1pm for the public, followed by a Funeral Service at 2pm, on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, 1701 Jefferson Blvd., Point Pleasant, WV 25550.
