Teresa June (Whittington) Raike, 53, of Point Pleasant, went to be with Jesus on Friday evening, January 20, 2012, at her home, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a 1976 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and a 1990 graduate of Marshall University, with a Masters in Adult Education. Teresa was employed with Pleasant Valley Hospital, where she served as an Administrative Assistant in Administration, Corporate Educator and Medical Staff Coordinator in Human Resources.

Teresa was born on August 26, 1958, in Gallipolis, a daughter to Homer and Ernestine (Taylor) Whittington, who survives her. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, David Taylor Raike and daughter, Sydney Nicole Raike, both at home. She is also survived by two sisters, Jenny (Eddy) Grimes, of Ada, OH and Edie (Ray) Williamson, of Ashland, KY; one brother, Charlie (Tara) Whittington, of Tampa, FL; her aunt, Mildred Whittington; two uncles, Dale (Becky) Taylor and Richard (Annabelle) Taylor; seven nieces and nephews, Cassy and Josh Grimes, Seth, Amber and Rachel Williamson and Wyatt and Alexandra Whittington; many cousins and a multitude of good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Carl Swisher, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Flatrock. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Educational Fund that has been established for her children at Ohio Valley Bank, 328 Viand St., Point Pleasant, WV, 25550.
