Thelma Irene DeWeese age 91 of Point Pleasant, WV passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday May 21, 2022 surrounded by her family .

Thelma was born in Mason Co. WV on June 26, 1930 to the late Wilbert and Augusta (Keefer) Absten, besides her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Howard A. DeWeese along with her brothers and sisters.

Thelma was a home maker, she took great pride in running their household and raising her children, while she was a very loving mother and wife it could be said that she was very capable keeping order around the house and insuring that her kids knew right from wrong.

She loved to garden, raising a healthy garden every year and always and abundance of flowers for every season, she loved the vivid colors and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and butterflies work her bounty.

Thelma loved her family, her kids and grandkids gave her so much joy, but the one thing that you would know if you every met her was she loved the Lord and was very active within her church family and was a member of Wolfe Valley Baptist Church.

Thelma lived a very active life of service to her family, community and her Lord and Savior and after 91 years of faithful service she leaves behind her legacy and love of family to her children and grandchildren: Howard "Keith" ( Edna) DeWeese, Kathy Thomas, Ronald (Sharon) DeWeese, Cheryl DeWeese and Regina (Jaried) Smith her 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren that have all been blessed to have her in their lives as an example hard work and faith.

Service for Thelma will be Tuesday May 24, 2022 at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Robert Patterson beginning at 1:00 PM visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery in Leon, WV.
