Jane was born to the late Lester and Joy Foreman on March 6, 1931, in West Columbia, West Virginia. She passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center, at the age of 95.

Jane was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Jane was a homemaker and she loved fixing home cooked meals for her family and friends. One of her greatest joys was baking pies and giving them away. She also liked to make homemade ice cream and invite neighbors and friends to enjoy it with her. She was a faithful member of Bethel Church in Tuppers Plains, Ohio. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved serving Jesus.

In addition to her parents, Jane. was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Edgar Arlee Abbott; son Edgar Bryant Abbott; sister, Mary Ruth Thabet; and brothers, Lawrence Bryant Foreman and Walden (Pete) Foreman.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Katherine (Paul) Rice; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Abbott; grandchildren, Shawn (Ashley) Rice, Steve (Nichole) Rice, Matthew (Shawna) Abbott, Stacy (Eric) Castle, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, has been entrusted with serving the Abbott family. You may offer condolences to the family via this webpage.
