Viola Jones Ellis passed away at home on March 14, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born February 10, 1930, in Letart, WV, a daughter to the late John R. and Violet (Blessing) Boyer. She was a member of the PVH Auxiliary and a member of the Point Pleasant First Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Jones and James Ellis; infant sister at birth, Francis Boyer and Mary Boyer Patrick; and great-grandson, Ethan Slone.

She is survived by her children, Karen (Bob) Donnally, of Gallipolis, Philip (Cindy) Jones, Shirley (Daniel) Morrow, all of Point Pleasant, Sharon (David) Watterson, of Apple Grove, WV and Keith Jones, of Troutman, NC; step-daughter, Patricia Whitlock, of Point Pleasant; 10 grandchildren, Lea (John) Kinnard, Mia (Jon) Slone, Brian (Karen) Wamsley, Misty McDaniel, Danetta (David) Hatfield, Tara (Erick) Conrad, Deanna (Brent) Rollins, Kimberly (Mike) Sturgeon, Philindy (Matt) Oliver, Tyson Jones. She also has 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Deloris Jones and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Rev. Mel Mock officiating. Burial will follow in Letart Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank caregivers, who took great care of their mother; Megan Jefferson, Mary Thomas, Addie Doss, Janet Kitchen, Connie Graham and Amanda Bryant.
