William E. "Red" Bowles, 87, of Point Pleasant, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at his home. Red was a retired mate with the Ohio River Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, having served in Korea from 1952-1954. Red was also a faithful member of the First Church of God, of Point Pleasant and loved to fish and care for his garden. Red was born on April 19, 1927, in Paradise, WV, a son to the late Floyd and Launah (Sayre) Bowles.
Red is survived by his wife, Jane (Reynolds) Bowles; sons and daughters-in-law, Brady Lee and Pamela Bowles, of Bunker Hill, WV, Keith and Mary Bowles and Gregory and Vanessa Bowles, all of Point Pleasant, Billy and Pamela Bowles, of Bidwell, OH; daughter, Kippie Bowles, of Point Pleasant; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; brothers, Hanford Bowles, of Point Pleasant, John and Linda Bowles, of VA; sisters, Gloria Hedrick, of Buffalo, Mona and Dick Rollins, of Columbus, OH and Judy and Brady Bonecutter, of Leon.
Red's life will be remembered at 12:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2015, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastors Carl Swisher and Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, in New Haven. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
