William "Ray" Carper, age 79, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 17, 2026, surrounded by family.

Ray was born January 4, 1947, in Gallipolis Ferry a son to the late George Manford Carper and Maggie Elizabeth (Henry) Parsons. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers.

Surviving Ray is his wife, Barbara Ann (Connolly) Carper whom he married on March 1, 1974, three Children; William Ray Carper Jr., and Jennifer Lynn Carper both of Gallipolis Ferry, WV., and Elijah Andrew (Kathy Jo) Carper of Point Pleasant, WV., four grandchildren; Travis Scott (Morgan) Carper, Kolton Carper, Gigi and MaeMae all Point Pleasant, one great-grandson, Travis Scott Carper Jr., and one great-granddaughter on the way, two brothers; Larry Carper and Davide Carper, two sister; Edna Fisher and Larry Snead of Henderson, WV Sheila (Billy) Baird of Gallipolis Ferry. along with many nieces' nephews and friends that will all deeply miss him.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 12:00. 

Funeral service officiated by Pastor Joe Nott will begin at 12:00, and burial will follow at Concord Cemetery, in Henderson, WV.
