William J. "Bill" Cox, 71, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Holzer Medical Center. Bill was born on November 3, 1940, in Logan, a son to the late Elbert and Recie (Snow) Cox. He was a graduate of Logan High School and was retired from Bell Atlantic Phone Co. and served as a BUR 2 with the United States Navy Seabees. He was the past Master and Secretary of the Minturn Lodge #19 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Royal Arch Mason Chapter #7 and Franklin Commandery #17, of Point Pleasant.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Elbert S. Cox, Jr.; two sisters, Betty (Cox) Maynard, Peggy (Cox) McKinney; and two great god-children.
Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 47 years, Ruth Ann (Roach) Cox; two god-daughters, Michele Williams and Debbie Patterson; five god-grandchildren; one god-great-grandchild; one sister Margret "Midge" Cox, of Logan, Wv. and several nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Patterson officiating. Military Rites will also be held at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, where Masonic graveside services will be held. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
