William Woodrow "Bill" Lambert, 92, of Ashton, West Virginia, was ushered into the presence of the Lord, on Sunday morning, January 25, 2009, at his home. He was a WWII Army Air Force veteran and Prisoner of War, where he served as a bombardier and also an Army AirCorp Reservist as a Captain. He was a chemist at Ohio Valley Electric, a volunteer at Pleasant Valley Hospital and a member of the Milton Free Methodist Church.
He was born, December 27, 1916, in Glenwood, West Virginia, to the late Henry Lee and Minnie Pearl (Reed) Lambert. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Ricks) Lambert, of Ashton, West Virginia; one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Reverend James Bolen of Barboursville, West Virginia; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Lambert of Apple Grove, West Virginia and Patrick and Veva Lambert of Huntington, West Virginia; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and two very special friends Mary and Jerry Bias.
Funeral services have been rescheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Reverend James Bolen, officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 until 7 P.M., Wednesday, January 28, 2009.
Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Lambert, Chris Bolen, Greg Bolen, Timothy Bolen, Patrick Lambert and Michael Lambert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Blakely and Carry Chapman.
