William "Bill" H.H. Woods Jr., age 93, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House, in Huntington, WV.

Bill was born in Mason County on July 20, 1931, to the late William and Era Woods. He graduated high school and enlisted in he United States Army,  where he traveled a lot and served as a duty driver, or as he put it, "well, I drove the Colonel around, and took him places",  which if you knew Bill, that is the answer you would expect.

Bill returned home from the Army and attended  college for a bit, and wanted to get himself into one of the plants here in the area, but instead followed his father and fell in love with working the family farm, which he did his entire life.

Uncle Bill was a Catbird, a confirmed bachelor if you will, he loved life and lived it his way to the fullest every day. He was a very caring and generous man that loved his farm, roaming his land and tending his cattle.

Surviving, Bill leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Woodie and Tammy Woods, Mark and Diane Woods, Carol and Tim Litchfield and Cindy and Mark Neal, along with several great nieces and nephews and very special friend, Barbara Wallace.

The family would like to thank the Veterans care he received at Abbyshire Place in Bidwell, Ohio and the special attention and compassion shown to them all by the Staff at Emogene Dolin Hospice House.

Services for Bill will be Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with  visitation from 12:00 - 1:00 and then the funeral service, officiated by Tony Stover will begin at 1:00, and burial will follow at Beale Chapel Cemetery, with full Military Honors.
